Redundancy discussions with a coach
I have just returned to betaChris HQ in the heart of Onehunga having spent some time with Nick Roud an Executive coach based on the North Shore
Some of you may know that I have recently finished up a long-term gig with UiPath as an Enterprise Customer Success Manager. The time I have now is precious to me as it allows me to connect with my network in New Zealand and overseas and to reflect on the challenges that have been overcome and the goals achieved.
Today with Nick we were talking about the different work streams of future work that I will be focusing on. We also discussed ways how to define my schedule over the next couple of months.
I thought I would write about these two areas in this post.
In terms of work streams, I decided to reach for my tool of choice (Miro) and have a quick brainstorm. I came up with the following.
The area of interest is where Roles which pay enough are also exciting.
This gives me a hierarchy of jobs from roles that pay well and excite me. Check out the Miro board here.
The second area is around my schedule as we go into Christmas. I need to define when I move from actively looking for a new role to passively looking. Then to define when I will shutdown, this is when I won't look for a new role on any of the social media accounts. I will remove the apps from my mobile phone and treat it like a phone.
I have updated Linkedin with my phone number and once I am in Shutdown I will only be taking telephone calls.
The reason for this approach is fairly clear. We need downtime. Time to be with family, enjoy beautiful New Zealand, and reflect.
Using Miro I quickly sketched out the following timeline.
